Steve Bruce is ready to test Newcastle United´s resolve by swooping for his former Old Trafford team-mate Nicky Butt in the January transfer window.The battling midfielder is out of contract at St. James´ Park in the summer,although boss Joe Kinnear is keen to keep him.
