Levante secured a surprise victory against the 3rd place team in La Liga, Villareal, a team who has been a revelation this season and prior to facing Levante had not lost a single game at home. Levante stormed the field and bravely attacked Villareal from the outset. Levante created many chances that easily could have ended in goal. Valdo would put the definitive touch on the game with a sublime finish just 2 minutes into the 2nd half to put Levante up 1-0. The Cape Verder winger beat Villareal keeper Diego Lopéz with a beautiful touch, followed by a thumping finish that sent Levante players and the Levante bench into pandemonium.


The best part about the game was Levante´s traveling supporters who made the relatively short journey up to Castellón to cheer on their granotas. Amidst the silence of El Madrigal created by the shock of losing, Levante supporters were heard louder than ever, breaking through onto T.V. broadcasts in a clear chant of "Vamos mi Levante, Vamos campeón! Lo Lo Lo-Lo LO!" (Here we go my Levante, Here we go champ!"
